Think about what information you want to receive from your health provider (family physician, dietitian, specialist, pharmacist, etc.) going into each consultation. Now, think about the information that is actually provided to you? Are there any inconsistencies? What is the fundamental purpose of treatment and therapy? Is this being met?
Hosted by the Institute of Healthcare Improvement UBC Chapter with guest speakers from the Therapeutics Initiative of UBC, the event will focus on the information asymmetry in the patient/provider visit and the potential bias in prescribing decisions and how this can be reduced.
